First of all....I cannot believe Boston is ONE YEAR OLD!!! Ahhh!! It's crazy!! (I will post all about his big birthday party next!) And yet... Andrew and I were talking about it, and although the time "did fly by" we feel like we've had Boston forever. That he's always been apart of our family because we can't even remember what it was like without him!! He's so apart of our lives, literally every minute, so yes I can believe it's been a year.
Month 11 was fun because of Christmas... not so fun because of being sick, but I've already written about that. Let me just say Boston is one tough kid. Even when he is sick or hurt you can usually get a smile out of him. He still rarely cries.... I have said many times if all of my children could be like Boston I would be soo happy! You couldn't ask for a better baby.
We also went to Uncle Gabe's Eagle court of honor! He got it at age 16! That is amazing!! I am grateful that Boston has so many great examples around him!!

Then we walked around Ogden park, Boston and Andrew rode the cute little train and we saw the lights, and little cottages with my parents and Dallin. It was a fun night! We also had dinner at a yummy place--Sandy's. Mmmm!
This kid has been getting banged up a lot lately. It's a tough life learning to walk! He has fallen into the piano, into the cupboards, and gotten rug burn on his face. At one point he almost looked as if he had a black eye! I over heard Andrew telling him, "Dude, I think it looks awesome! That's gonna help you get all the girls! You just tell em' HEY, you should see the OTHER guy!" lol Andrew's conversations with him make me laugh....
Andrew posted this pic on Facebook with the following caption: Despite the scratches and bruises from recent falls, including tackling a chair onto his face this morning, my little Bos is all smiles!

It helps to have a Grandpa around to ice all those goose aches. :)
He isn't walking on his OWN yet, still using anything he can get his hands on, the walls, furniture, our legs while we're walking etc. But he is fast! One of our favorite games, is going to hide on the other side of some furniture and having him come find us! He gets so excited, you can hear him breathing hard and squealing as he makes his way over! ha ha It's a good way to wear him out!! I should add that all the while this "walking" is going on, it seems to help having your tongue hang out, and letting it lick all the stainless steel is a must.
I think fingerprints and tongue prints will forever be on my stainless steel from now on. I have already given up cleaning... ;)
He's been a super busy body with all these new moving abilities. It makes it a lot harder to get things done... however I did find a way to keep him still for a few minutes while I get my morning work out in. ha ha ;) Too bad it only lasted 5 seconds... yeah that's how long my workout was too... jk no I have to get creative... Boston's favorite is when I use him instead of my weights...except my weights aren't nearly as heavy as he is, so that's a work in progress. :)
Also with his new walking abilities he has picked up a part time job as a Driver aka- Pusher. He could push these girls around all night. And it works out cause they love to be pushed!! ha ha
I also CANNOT keep him away from the TV!!! Drives me crazy!! He loves to turn it on and off really fast! (can't be good) He snickers at me when he gets close to touching it... little stinker.
He's gotten very independent and loves to do what we're doing. this is his hair after HE dried it. It's so cute. He grabs the towel and takes it very seriously and dries himself off. He also loves to help vacuum and sweep! I tell ya, we're raising little assets around here, as Andrew likes to call it. haha

Flossin our teeth!! ;)
One of his favorite things though are black beans!! Puro Chapin (pure Guatemalan) just like his Daddy!
His nap schedule was going crazy for awhile because he learned how to sit up on his own, and wouldn't lay back down... he would cry and cry, and literally start fallin asleep sitting up, so we would go in and lay him down then he would freak out and immediately sit back up and start all over! Ugh... I thought he was going to just one nap a day cause he was protesting his naps soo much, but it turns out once he figured out how to lay down, he was fine with 2 naps again, and boy am I glad. I was not ready for just one "break" per day. Luckily another helpful thing Sierra suggested is putting books in his crib. He loves it!! One minute he's got his feet up, just relaxing reading a book....
And the next minute he is sound asleep!! Works like a charm!! Such a cutie!!
Tuesdays at Grandma and Grandpa Hawkins is always a fun time for Boston and I to get out of the house and be with some of our best friends! It's helpful too, because they will watch him while I get little projects done. The other day while we were there I heard my Dad and Boston laughing and laughing outside.. they were throwing snowballs and Uncle Dallin's window! ha ha
Then later, I went into the back room to find them sleeping. ha ha it was so cute!! Reminded me of what it was like to be little...sleeping between my parents. Feeling trapped into taking a nap. lol
He also got his FIRST BIG BOY HAIR CUT!!!!
His hair was getting pretty scraggly. Truth be told, I loved it... and was very sad to part with it. I'll admit it looks nice now that it's all cleaned up and even. The bed head was getting pretty bad, and wouldn't go away without a lot of... grease. ha But I feel like I lost my baby with that hair cut! He got it one day before he turned one. I was so emotional about it. ha ha He looks like a big boy now, and not my little baby!! I miss those wispy curls. I need to have a baby girl stat.
BEFORE:
He cried for less than a minute... and was soo brave! The gal in my ward that cut it did such a good job, and said he was perfect! :)

likes the TV too much (he really doesn't watch much, maybe 20 min a day IF that) and pushes the buttons on the remote and waits for it to do something! ha ha
Cute Bum where ya from?! :)
Loves HIS laminated picture of Uncle Elder Blake Hawkins!
And last but not least, we had a special guest one blizzardy winter night. Great Grandma Hawkins came over to decorate some things with me, when it started to blizzard outside! She couldn't leave for hours! The roads were soo bad! Andrew had to dig her car out when he finally arrived from his 3hr snowy commute home from work. But we didn't mind. We got to hang out together all night! It was fun to catch up. we had dinner together. I had just gotten done telling her how much Boston loves broccoli, next thing I hear her whispering to him, "Dont' tell anyone, but I have never cared for broccoli, and she scooped hers onto his plate. Made me laugh so hard! She also kept sneaking him more banana bread before dinner even after I told him no more! What would Grandma be if she didn't spoil him just the way she did to me growing up! We love our Grandma!! :)
