Seriously I can't explain how much Boston makes my heart smile. :) (that is a phrase my Mom always uses, and I have come to love it) Everything he does is cute. ha ha I'm sure it won't always be this way, but for now I'm soaking it in!
We've still been enjoying the summer sun, and Boston and I try and feel the cool grass between our toes at least once every day! I love taking him in the backyard and swinging on our swing, singing songs, and feeling the breeze! Boston LOVES the swing too. It's the secret weapon for his babysitters. (his grandparents for now) If he gets fussy, just take him on the swing. :) He got it from his Mommy, who loves to swing too, and always has! Mark my words, in our backyard in the future we will have some awesome swings! (the metal play kind, not just a lounger swing) Anyways, we did go swinging, and had a picnic with Sierra and Daphne a few weeks ago. Lots of fun! :) It's so cute to put Daphne and Boston next to each other now and watch them interact.
Boston LOVES my long hair, and pulls it everyday... If Andrew didn't love it too, I'd probably have cut it off by now. He does let go, and I tell him he needs to be nice. >
He also went to his first birthday party! Boston had been looking forward to it ever since he first tasted the invitation!
It was for Jack Jones, his little friend down the street. He turned one, and they had a big celebration in their backyard with water slides, and ice cream. It was so cute. Boston was bummed he couldn't go running around and get wet with the other kids, but we still had a good time. :) It was very hot and bright, as you can see in the pic, to the left, which will NOT be the case for Boston's birthday parties (in February)... I wonder what I'm going to do?!Milestones, and updates: He FINALLY has dropped the dream feed (10pm) and still wakes up at about 5 to eat, then goes back to sleep until 7-7:30. He is taking 2, 2hr naps a day now instead of 3. Which was absolutely driving me crazy for awhile there, because he kinda still needed 3 naps, but didn't think he did, and only wanted 2, so he was cranky... anyways, I've mostly got it figured out now. I just keep him up at least 3 hours, then lay him down. so around 10, and 3,then to bed at 8. I love having a routine, but that's just me. It helps me know what's wrong, and takes most of the guess work out. He's still nursing great, about 6 times a day, and has been eating oatmeal with prune juice (to help his tummy) twice a day. I recently introduced him to peas, and he loved it! I hope he likes the other greens just as much! I hope he keeps being this good of an eater. If I have a picky kid.... let's not even think about that. I don't think I'd give them much of a choice. Mean Mom? Maybe. But Andrew and I love to eat healthy! We of course have a few treats here and there, but I expect my kids to be the same way. :) They'll thank me someday.
He is sitting up now!! Started just after 5 months! I love it! It's opened up a whole new world! And hopefully this cute little spot starts going away! Call me crazy, but I love this little fluff that pokes out on his hair! It's the last of his newborn hair. ha ha I love these next few pics. Cutest little buddy in the world!
He can also stand up to things, and loves doing so, because he thinks he's doing it all on his own! Shh! ha little does he know I'm standing right behind him waiting to catch his fall.

Last but not least, scariest moment of my Mommy life so far was when Boston got a pretty bad cough this last month. It was awful, and wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy. I've never felt so helpless than watching Boston cough so hard he threw up a couple of times. And his lips started going blue! :(
He was so congested, that was the only way his body could get rid of the mucus, so I guess in the end it was a blessing. It was a long week though. I literally think I slept on the edge of my bed ready to run into his room and sit him up if he started coughing too hard, at any moment. We took him to Instacare, and they said it just had to take its course... not comforting. We took him to his pediatrician the next day who sent us home with a nebulizer which I think really brought him some relief. He thought the breathing mask was kind of annoying. Even more annoying was his Mom trying to take pictures while he used it.
What I really felt helped him a lot though was the essential oils! I would rub "Respiratory" on his chest, feet, and back (with olive oil) I also used an oil called "Defend" and "WO". Then I diffused the Respiratory oil, and Frankincense directly over his crib anytime he was in there! All of that along with hot steamy showers with Andrew and I, and he kicked that bad cough in just over a week!! :)
**I need to preface here that I am adding this paragraph a few days after publishing this post** I was looking over this post and the above 2 paragraphs stuck out to me because I realized, I completely forgot, in my ignorance, to give credit to Heavenly Father for Boston getting better so quickly. I am always learning, and I learned a lesson today, and that is that so often I forget to give Him the credit. He really is the reason anything goes right in our lives, and yet of course I gave credit to the medicines, herbs, and doctors first.... when I'm positive that the 2 blessings he received from Andrew, and countless prayers Andrew and I said in his behalf made all the difference for sure. And then of course our work we put in after our faithful prayers paid off. I'm so grateful for a merciful, and gracious God that blesses my family, and is patient with my maturity.
Other than that sickness he has been my usual happy baby that I love so much, that is growing up way too fast! He brings so much joy to Andrew and I!

He is so photogenic. I love the 2nd one of him and Daphne interacting. I like the football and laundry basket pics.
ReplyDeleteThanks Priscilla! ha it's fun to see the changes over time! Crazy!
DeleteSeriously, when did he get so big? That picture of him standing against the fence kills me! Love it, but seriously, when did he learn to do that? He is still baby Bos!!!
ReplyDeleteha ha I know right?! One night he just sprouted up like a weed! Actually, let's be honest, he's always been pretty big lol He has the death grip on things he loves, so one day I put him up to the fence and he just held on so tight I left him there! :)
