A few milestones this month:
First off Boston hit 13 pounds! I forgot to put the pic in last month's post! He probably weighs more like 15 pounds now. lol I am having a really hard time carrying him around in his carrier. I need to do some weight lifting! ha I don't know how other moms do it!!
I love taking the pictures of him for his monthly growth! It's so fun to see the changes! I didn't choose this one for the collage cause he was balled up but I wanted to post it because it shows how much fun he was having with it this time! :)
He's still a great eater! Nursing about 6 times a day for 6-12 minutes. It's honestly my favorite time of the day to spend with him. I know I've been extremely fortunate in being able to nurse him so well, and for that I am very grateful.
He has learned how to hold things in his hands, and loves doing so. I do have to hand objects to him, but once he's got them he holds them in the death grip. lol His favorite is his keys! When we get ready to go somewhere Andrew always says, "Bos, do you have your keys?! Cause you're drivin!" :)
He's also learning how to keep his head up really well thanks to lots of tummy time. It's not his favorite thing, but he rarely complains, and I have lots of fun encouraging him and looking at his cute face!
He's learned his first game and loves to play it anytime I'm trying to do something prodcutive. ha Now people may say he doesn't know what he's actually doing at this age yet, but I beg to differ entirely... the game goes like this: I set Boston in his bouncer so that I can clean or cook, etc. So I put his blanket over his legs to keep him warm (I am very warm blooded so I keep the house pretty cool most of the time, so he's usually got a blanket on). As soon as I am not looking, he will kick and kick until the blanket is entirely off of him and onto the floor. Then I look to check on him, say something funny about him kicking the blanket off, and put it back on him. Even after tucking it in around him I'll just find it on the floor a minute and a half later. If this is a preview for what's ahead, we may have some rebellion on our hands. ha ha
Boston is such a good boy though! He is always very chill, and loves just hanging out on his own, under his animal gym, or even just laying on the bed. He's so content. We find he actually gets upset if he doesn't get some "alone" time. He gets frustrated if he's snuggled with too much. This made me a little sad at first, but I can't be too upset because I'm told that's exactly how I was... very independent. His animal gym is his favorite though. He will talk and make all kinds of noises while playing with this thing. It's so fun to watch. He especially loves hitting the giraffe and parrot. :)
Biggest, most wonderful milestone: He is sleeping through the night consistently!! Not just one night wonders here and there but consistently!! It started at about 2 and a half months! I seriously could not be a happier mom as of late! He goes to bed between 7:30 and 8:30 and sleeps until 6 or 7 am. So as long as I get myself to bed before 11 I am happy to get up with him at that point, and I feel so much more productive! We'll read scriptures together, I've actually been getting exercise in now, and we start the day at a decent hour, not just barely before lunch time like before! One of the best things about Boston being so easy going is if I am still tired when he first gets up I will feed him his breakfast and he will just lay in Andrew's spot on the bed next to me, talk to himself for a little while and go back to sleep, and let me sleep some more.
Last new thing is he has started watching TV. ha No, I am not trying to encourage TV already at this young age, but I will admit, I have become fond of channel 9400, the baby channel (who knew a channel like that even exisited! I know I didn't) because it distracts him just long enough for me to get ready or clean something for a minute. They're pretty interesting shows...I may or may not have caught myself watching it once when Boston wasn't even in the room... ha
A few events in the last month:
He atteneded church a few times, one of which was his Uncle Jordan's mission farwell! He will be serving in the Brazil Brasilia mission!! We tried to keep Boston away from the big crowds (since I am a germ-a-phobe), so he spent quite a bit of time just hangin out with me and Andrew, and his Grandpa Jasmer in their room. He still got to meet lots of new friends and family though!
Speaking of germ-a-phobe, I don't know how well it's paid off cause he also got his first cold, poor thing. I felt so bad for him!! At least that's all he's gotten though. He could barely breathe out of his nose. And you'd swear I was torturing him every time I had to use the nose syringe. I guess I'd be pretty mad if someone stuck something up my nose too. Too bad he's too young to learn the concept of blowing his nose.. that's really all he needed. Even with a stuffy nose he was as cute as ever. ha I know I say that he's cute constantly, but I can't help it.
We went on our first family vacation this month to Grandma Crandall's 90th birthday party in St. George. Boston was a champ and didn't even cry in the car one bit!
Last but not least, he grew out of my favorite outfit of his. I loved this jacket and the cute little jeans that went with it... It was sad parting with them. ha He probably grew out of it a while ago actually, but just cause the zipper wouldn't go up over his belly didn't mean I wasn't going to scrunch him into it a few more times. lol

I cannot believe how big he is getting. So adorable! We should get together sometime soon and let Addy and Boston "play" (more like look at each other and make funny sounds).
ReplyDeleteYeah! Let's definitely get together soon! ha Maybe Addy can teach Boston a thing or two about rolling over, or her yoga moves. lol He seems very content in not moving. Which I'm actually ok with, but it will be fun once he does learn it.
DeleteOh I know how that nose "sucking" goes. Brailey just absolutely HATES it. But I found out its not just the fact that its up their nose thats bothering them. The suctioning can actually hurt their ears because their nose and ears are still connected this young. Well... he is SUPER CUTE! I love reading your blog and your updates on Boston. :)
ReplyDeleteHe is getting so big and beautiful Cami, you are such a good mom , i love reading your posts , i cant wait till we can hang out , i miss you. keep up the good work :)
