2 Posts see below! A lot has happened since we got back to reality, post- Cruise. First things FIRST! My AMAZING little brother Blake, got his mission call!!! It was such a neat experience when he opened it. First let me say, all he's ever said is, "I don't care where I serve, foreign or state-side as long as I get to learn Spanish."
So he opens it up and reads, Elder Hawkins, you have been called to serve in the Colorado Springs, Colorado mission!!! We were all freaking out congratulating him, I even stopped recording, then my Uncle Chad says after a min, "Blake, keep reading!" He then read, you will serve the people in the Spanish language!!!! Then I started recording again, (I'll just post the reaction after he read about speaking Spanish, please excuse my commentary) Blake was so excited, he immediately got emotional, because that's just what he wanted. It was perfect. I love the way the Lord works, and how he knows exactly what we're going to do and feel, I also think he has an awesome sense of humor! ha ha
Andrew and I are so proud of Blake. He stands out in a crowd of youth as one that fights for his values. He never gives in. He's so strong. He's such an example, and is a hero to me in sooo many ways. I look up to him so much (literally now) and I know he will be an amazing missionary.
